The department of Mathematics was established in 1993 with an undergraduate course in Mathematics main with Statistics and Computer Application as subsidiaries. The department keeps a consistent and excellent result. Since its inception so far four times the department has won the excellency award from the management for 100% pass in the university exam. The department is quite active in conducting seminars, quiz competitions and other similar programmes The Mathematics association of the department is publishes a magazine named 'Ganitha' annually.

The vision of the department is to raise the department to a centre of excellence in teaching and service by providing the students a strong foundation in Mathematics, inspiring them for higher studies and research and producing self-reliant, responsible, honest citizens for the country.

To make the students well equipped with the necessary background for higher studies and make them aware of the recent trends in Mathematics. Also, to develop a research aptitude in the students and inculate social virtues through social activities.
