The library is a local gateway to knowledge which provides a basic condition for lifelong learning, independent decision-making and cultural development of the individual and social groups.Library is a place for knowledge creation and sharing. It is a storehouse for knowledge in different formats (print and electronic). Libraries any- where in the world are major providers of information services. We are on the journey of making out library a knowledge hub for generations to come.

MD College library has a collection of 18230 books under various categoriesas text books, reference books, literature works etc.We have 6000 + E-journals and 3 million E -books through INFLIBNET (N List Consortia). Apart from this the library has journals in various core disciplines. INFLIBNET access facility is made available through the library to each student and faculty of the college. The library has a fully furnished and spacious reading room.Facilities are made available in the library for students to browse internet. A separate session of library termed as Career Corner contains collection of books for preparing for various competitive examinations Our library is partially automated and books are arranged based on DDC 23rd edition. We have D SPACE, an institutional depository software for archiving scholarly materials of faculties of our collegeand project works of students. The library also has multilingual searching OPACfacility.

Rules & Regulations of Library

  1. Time 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
  2. Only writing materials can be taken inside the reading room and library.
  3. Each student will be issued one borrower's ticket against which books can be borrowed from the library.
  4. Books must be returned within 14 days of the date of issue,failing which, a fine of Rs 1/day will be charged per book.
  5. Mutilation of book/ magazine is a serious offence and the borrower will have to replace the damaged book at their cost.
  6. The loss of books should be immediately reported to the librarian and must either replace the book or compensate it as decided by the librarian.
  7. Sub lending of book is strictly forbidden.
  8. All books issued from the library shall be returned without fail on/before the last working day of the academic year.
  9. The Principal and the librarian have the right to recall any book at 24 hours' notice.
  10. SILENCE shall be strictly observed in all parts of the library and reading room.
